        Meet the Deans

Meet the Deans

Synopsis:
Meet the Deans is a hilarious play full of warm, Scouse humour and a dollop of Drama in each and every day. Starring and directed by Liverpool actress and star of Channel 4'sShameless, Tina Malone, Meet the Deans introduces us to a family full of love, laughter and laugh out loud family banter. Tina Malone plays Mrs Dean, queen of the household and a frazzled mother hen to her adult children, all of whom still live at home. Amongst the humour however, we learn that daughter, Jess (played by Sarah Donovan) was born with a congenital heart defect - her only long-term chance of survival being a heart transplant, and soon. the play was inspired by writer, Kerry Williams', own experience of her sister-in-law who suffered a similar condition and was placed on the waiting list for a heart transplant, with a positive outcome. Williams' portrayal of a normal family in exceptional circumstances succeeds in touching the hearts of the audience, whilst providing plenty of laughs along the way too. Audiences will also meet Jess' errant brother, Jimmy, always on hand to provide shocking stories from the back of his cab; second brother Joseph is a bundle of camp fun and self-obsessed sister Hannah has so much fake tan on her that she glows - then there's the youngest Chris, allergic to desk jobs but still makes a tidy income, selling his home grown produce from his bedroom, he's oblivious to the problems around him - or is he?
