        State Highway 48

State Highway 48

Synopsis:
The journey of middle age is a tough one. Relationships, work, family, friends all present their challenges. And the recent recession made life even harder for many. State Highway 48 is a story told from the road of middle age and tries to tackle some of the issues we face while making us focus on the important things - family, friends, communication, love. It's designed to make us feel normal and happy in our skins. The story traces a typical middle aged family, their kids and their friends as they grapple with daily lives, relationships and work. All against the backdrop of a changing world and the challenges that come with it. Dave, the central character comes face to face with redundancy and a failing marriage while being followed by the black dog of depression. His wife, Sharon battles through it and, in the process of moving on from the marriage split realises, through the actions and words of her kids, what really matters. Friends and colleagues play a big part and the changing face of the workplace has a major impact. It's raw and real. There's lots of laughter and a few tears. It's a 21st century story.
