Constantine Sandis wrote and co-directed Lessons from Louise which opened at the Man in the Moon Theatre (Chelsea) in March 2000. He has recently completed a stage adaptation of Milan Kundera's short story Symposium and has also written Parthenon Lost: A Diaologue on the Parthenon Marbles, which received its Premiere in May at the Oxford Greek Festival 2004 and was next performed at the XVIth International Symposium of the OLYMPIC CENTER FOR PHILOSOPHY AND CULTURE at Pyrgos of Elia and Ancient Olympia (Greece) in July 2005. Current writing projects include a stage adaptation of Premchand's the Chess Players , and Objectivity: a new musical comedy in three acts and an appendix. He is one of the founding directors of Sandis Productions and recently co-directed the UK Premiere of Many Loves by Pulitzer Prize Winner William Carlos Williams, at the Lilian Baylis Theatre, Sadler's Wells. He has recently also collected a selection of his own songs under the title Monsters in Love. Constantine read Philosophy and theology at St. Anne's College, University of Oxford and received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Reading. He is an Associate Lecturer in philosophy at the Open University, a tutor in Philosophy at the the University of Bath (Division for Lifelong Learning),and a visiting teacher for the Royal Institute of Philosophy ( Jacobsen Scheme).

Gift of a Cow, The

Synopsis:
Economic and social conflict in a north Indian village are brilliantly captured in the story of Hori, a poor farmer, and his family's struggle for survival and self-respect. Hori does everything he can to fulfill his life's desire: to own a cow, the peasant's measure of wealth and well-being. Like many Hindus of his time, he believes that making the gift of a cow to a Brahman before he dies will help him achieve salvation. Lessons from Louise

Synopsis:
Carmen is on the mattress eating all her favourite snacks. All is fine until she realises that she misplaced her pistachios. This triggers a deep psychological crisis. Louise, who is here to help her friend recover from a well-documented swearing disease, is sitting by the table recording her sudden emotional outburst. they begin an introspective discussion. Soon enough it turns into a row in the climax of which Carmen accuses Louise of stealing her pistachios. Things will never be the same again.
