Entitled

Synopsis:
ENTITLED is a piece of theatre about hope, privilege and disappointment. It's about rights, and the wrongs that can deny them. It takes the form of a get-in and a get-out: the usually hidden process of transforming a theatre from an empty space into a stage for a show - and back again. ENTITLED is Quarantine's second collaboration with philosopher Dr Michael Brady.

Summer Review

Synopsis:
Here comes summer. . .There are dozens of people on stage, having the time of their lives. How could it be any other way? All the world's there - babies, toddlers, teenagers, twenty-thirty-forty-fifty-sixty-seventy-somethings and beyond. . .People you might pass in the street or sit next to in a theatre. Like the cliche says: life's no rehearsal. The people on stage respond to questions they've never heard before and the text gets written as we go along. You never know what might crop up. Real life doesn't stop when the show starts. Summer. is about being alive, right now. It's the first part of an ambitious quartet of performances created by Quarantine over the next 3 years that looks at the human life cycle. Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring. will be made in 4 separate parts then played as a marathon event from 2016.

Wallflower

Synopsis:
Wallflower is a dance marathon, a game that alters according to the players. Three performers are challenged to remember every dance they've ever danced. Each performance is different, as they choose what they want to reveal, what story of themselves they want to tell. . .Like much of Quarantine's work, Wallflower serves as a form of portraiture - of real lives being lived. It makes us remember our own dances - the awkward, joyful and forgotten ones. It asks us to think about how we choose to be involved in the world, and what we sit out. The dances left un-danced.

White Trash

Synopsis:
the term white trash" is derogatory. But there is nothing at all derogatory about this latest piece from Quarantine, a company that specialises in weaving fictions from the real stuff and stories of people's everyday lives. Everywhere Quarantine delves, it uncovers the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary and banal. Using non-professional actors recruited through workshops in the Manchester area, and drawing strongly on their lives and stories, White Trash offers neither judgments nor sociology - and not a great deal of narrative either. However, in 90 minutes of stop-start energy, it gives a sideways glimpse into the hearts and souls of these youngsters, their complicated interlocking relationships, their ways of survival." the guardian

Notes:
the writer was Kevin Fegan (Although it was A devised peice springing directly from the lives of the cast.), the director was Richard Gregory, the designer was Simon Banham, And it was coreographed by Christine Devany.
