Ersatz

Synopsis:
Ersatz tells the story of a contemporary two grown up child professional family, that out of the blue is stricken with tragedy. Long buried hurts and suppressed disappointments snake through the left over lives that they have to live in the new circumstances that they are now placed in - review.

Synopsis:
It is 1920. Lord Leverhulme, born in Bolton 69 years before, is at his summer home in Rivington when the celebrated and eccentric artist, Augustus John, arrives to paint his portrait. A warm and witty mixture of fact and fiction, the world premiere of 'Sunlight On The Moors' explores family tensions, the legacy of World War I, the paradox behind philanthropic industrialisation and the nature of art itself - director's notes.

Notes:
The production won 3 Greater Manchester Drama Federation Awards for 2014: best director, best supporting actor and the special "adventure in theatre" award. It was also nominated for best production.
