Pieces on the Board         Wrath of Aphrodite, The

Pieces on the Board

Synopsis:
A genre-busting spin on the seedy noir crime thriller, "Pieces on the Board" is part mystery, part epic romance, and part mob story, with a healthy dose of martial Arts fighting. A young man hires a hitman to kill his mob-boss father, and is surprised when the assassin shows up in the form of a beautiful woman. the first act is the deadly chess game between Father and son, as each tries to out maneuver the other by manipulating the lovely assassin. It is in the second act when the story pulls back, allowing us to see into the past, present, and future, and to fully understand the scope of the game. This forces us to realize that as much as we think we might have control over our lives, we are little more than pieces on the board.
