Writer/director/actor-- former college professor, Lynn Wells Nelson has directed over fifty productions from musicals to Shakespeare. She adapted dozens of scripts in cooperation with such authors as Winston Weathers, Jack Matthews, Ray Bradbury. As an actor, she has played such roles as Hedda in Hedda Gabler and Birdie in The Little Foxes. THE ARTICULATE VOICE, her textbook, has been in use throughout the country for over twenty years. She has dozens of published articles and conference papers to her credit. CATALINA: The Musical-- book and lyrics by Wells Nelson, music by Richard Abraham, was produced in Riverside, California in 1998. THE OLD BIRD, her play written in 2009, has won seven awards. She is a member of ASCAP, the Dramatists Guild of America, the Orange County Playwrights' Alliance, the National Communication Association, and a former President of the Western States Communication Association.

Catalina: The Musical

Synopsis:
In the spirit of the 1940s and set on an idyllic island twenty-six miles across the sea, campy and high spirited, townspeople rally to save their way of life against developers who want to strip the island of its space and character by building a theme park. Young and old alike fall in love along the way, and everyone realizes that "ya gotta take a chance" if you want to succeed at anything.

Ghost Town

Synopsis:
When Diane sells her dead mother's home lock, stock, and barrel she wants only to walk away from years of junk. But the buyer, a young man with Asperger's comes with baggage of his own and pulls Diane back into a world of ghosts and memories.

On an isolated island in the Sea of Cortez three men and a woman have come for the chance of a lifetimeto shoot a big-horned sheep. Expectations and realities clash in ways unforeseen. Old Bird, The

Synopsis:
What does it mean to be the oldest person on earth? What is life like when all of your family and friends are gone? The idea of the long life well lived generated the play,"The Old Bird" and was inspired by the life of Jeanne Calment, who lived to be 122 years old. At about the age of ninety, she sold her apartment in a French transaction called en viager, the French version of a reverse mortgage. However she outlived the buyer whose family ended up paying twice the apartment's worth. The play in three acts features four characters. It's time frame spans thirty years and is set in an apartment in France. The play won three new play festivals and seven production awards.

Sassafras

Synopsis:
The story of a young phrenologist in the America of the 1800s, full of hope and determination. Thaddeus Burke encounters a variety of characters, all of whom affect his philosophy of life, a life he feels is full of more coincidences than most. His love of adventure and sassafras take him into myriad situations from which he emerges just a little wiser.
