        According to Oscar

According to Oscar

Synopsis:
Since 2002, the Mercators, one of Edinburgh's longest established amateur drama groups have presented dramatised readings in period costume celebrating the lives of famous writers such as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Conan Doyle, J.M. Barrie, the Brontes and W.S. Gilbert. This year we feature Oscar Wilde and highlight the often forgotten role of his wife, Constance. Our performance includes extracts from many of Oscar's famous works including the Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband, Lady Windermere's Fan, A Woman of No Importance, the Ballad of Reading Gaol, and less well known, the Remarkable Rocket.
