Mark Leiren-Young is a playwright, screenwriter, journalist, performer and insomniac. as a playwright, Mark is best known for controversial Dramas like Shylock and articles of Faith and political satires - including his work as half of the satirical duo Local anxiety. Mark wrote and directed the feature film, the Green Chain - a series of monologues dealing with the issues defining and dividing modern logging communities. Greenpieces: an eco-Comedy, a TV special he wrote, produced and co-starred in, received an earthVision award for excEllence in environmental programming. Other TV credits include episodic Drama (Blood Ties, the Collector, Psi Factor), comedy (SketchCom, Terminal City), animation (Class of the Titans, ReBoot, RollBots) and documentary (Grand Illusions, Life and Times). as a journalist, Mark's work has appeared in such publications as Time, Maclean's and the Utne Reader.
