Gary LeGault's (born 25 July 1950) first play, "Bravo, Isabel!," was produced by the Theater for the New City in 1976, and starred Paulita Sedgwick (Edie's cousin) as Isabella, Queen of Spain. His second play, "Doctor Noguchi," was presented thirty-four years later in 2010 at The Complex in Hollywood, and was based on the work of the former Los Angeles County Coroner, haunted by ghosts of his most famous autopsy cases: Marilyn Monroe, Robert Kennedy, Sharon Tate, Janis Joplin, Freddie Prinze, William Holden, Natalie Wood and John Belushi. This was followed by his first musical comedy for the theater, "Wind in the Widows," also in 2010, and in 2012 his drawing room farce, "Dial 'M' for Marlene," based on an alliance between Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe, following Marilyn's January, 1955, New York press conference, announcing her departure from Hollywood. He has written as many a dozen plays for the stage, and created several motion pictures, including "East of the Tar Pits" (2012), featuring the Warhol film star, Holly Woodlawn. He currently lives in Hollywood, and continues to write plays, while working as a legal assistant for a major law firm in downtown Los Angeles. As a videographer he has photographed a number of the Warhol film actors, including Jackie Curtis and Taylor Mead. He is also known for his original portraits, which include Sylvia Miles, Alexis Del Lago, Nelson Sullivan, Jackie Curtis, Candy Darling and political activist Marsha P. Johnson. His most current play, "Sadie in Seclusion," takes place in San Francisco's Tenderloin district amid the 1960's and depicts the famous character of Somerset Maugham's short story, "Miss Thompson," some forty years later (with special permission from the Maugham estate for production in the United State only). In his youth, he staged managed for the director and acting teacher, Sandy Shurin, and is a contemporary of the playwright, Harvey Fierstein, each having debuted their new works ("Bravo, Isabel!" and "Torch Song Trilogy") at New York's Pulitzer-prize winning Theater for the New City during 1976.
