Go, Tell Michelle: African-American Women Speak To The First Lady

Synopsis:
On November 11, 2008, Brooks-Bertram and Nevergold issued a call for letters to Michelle Obama, to encourage and support the new First Lady. They started with a simple idea: for African-American women to write letters to Michelle Obama on the occasion of this historic inauguration. "Go, Tell Michelle," they said. The response from African-American and African women around the world was overwhelming. The play is more than a dramatic reading of these letters; it is a montage of hidden voices, personal stories, and heartfelt emotions unleashed by the tide of history that has swept the nation.
