Black White

Synopsis:
*Festival award Winner* elderly Venetia Havergale is a merciless critic of men and just about everything else, as the other women who live in the retirement flats know only too well. and she will never be any different - or will she? Thanks partly due to the revolt of down-trodden esther, supported by Rhoda the 'mad literary woman' who is obsessed with her ailing cactus plant and thoughts of her hero Tolstoy - as well as some plain speaking from down-to-earth Sadie (formerly of the 'old bus depot' in Salvation Street) - things are about to change. "a cleverly written play. . . ambitious, and gives opportunity for strong characterisation." Christabel Burniston - adjudicator, Staffs Youth & adult Drama Festival
