Literary Agent:    n/a

Clint Jefferies grew up in the Midwest and graduated from United States International University School of Performing and Visual Arts as a Directing Major. He worked in theatre for over four decades, first as a child actor, later as an actor, director and designer. As to influences, in the Junior High library he discovered Williams, Miller and Albee, who showed him just how powerful a great play can be. He credits two early directors, Lou Carter and Helen Anderson, for teaching him everything one really needs to know about theater. And of course, to Clint, Stephen Sondheim can do no wrong. After many years directing, he began writing in 1986 and is the author of thirteen produced plays and musicals. The plays include Suave Succubus (published by Original Works Publishing), Odyssey '75 & Strange Bedfellows. Musicals include In a Land Far Away (Finalist, Stanley Drama Award), The Captain's Boy, The Strange Case of the Lascivious Transformation of Mr. X, The Three Musketeers & Fangs: The Vampire Musical. His historical drama, The Jocker, was winner of the national John Gassner Memorial Playwriting Awards as well as being named a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writer's Conference Literary Competition, The South Carolina Playwright's Festival & the Bloomington Playwright's Project. His country/western musical spoof,Cowboys! was the recipient of the 2000 OOBR Award for Excellence in Off-off Broadway Theatre. Cast albums ofCowboys! and The Three Musketeers are distributed nationally by Original Cast Recordings. All of Clint's work has been produced in New York City with regional productions in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Tucson, St. Petersburg, FL & Seattle, WA. Various of his plays have enjoyed staged readings at Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles, Chapel off Chapel in Melbourne Australia, The Southwark Playhouse in London and at New Jersey Repertory and the Shawnee Playhouse. He is also the author of nearly 100 articles published in various national magazines ranging from erotic fiction to travel pieces and essays. As a playwright, his particular passion is ferreting-out, researching and writing pieces that illuminate lost fragments of gay cultural history. His most recent efforts along those lines are Tango Masculino, (supported by a grant from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs) which enjoyed a sold-out run at Wings Theatre in New York, both receiving critical praise and breaking box office records - as well as receiving the 2002 OOBR Award for Excellence in Off-off Broadway Theatre. It was also produced in Australia at The New Theatre as part of the famous Sidney Mardi Gras Festival. His latest musical, Nile Blue, was written for and produced at Wings Theatre, NYC, and more recently on the boards in St. Petersburg, FL. Clint Jefferies is a member of the Dramatists' Guild and Artistic Director of Wings Theatre Company. He was founder and Artistic Director of Hutchinson Repertory Theatre, a professional touring company serving sixteen Midwestern states, as well as serving as a Panelist for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Theatre Program, The American Theatre Association Task Force on Small Professional Theatres, and the board of directors of The Professional Division of the American Theatre Association and The Association of Kansas Theatres. He currently resides in New York City with his crazy, wonderful husband Stephen, and Scarlet, a very sweet, if slightly damaged, alley cat. His plays are dedicated with loving thanks to Nelson who inspired and informed Clint's writing for over twenty years, and to his mother who has supported and encouraged his theatrical endeavors from the beginning, and who is always there.

Research:    Member of the Dramatists Guild of America (as at 2015)
