Ed Hime's first play, about the Boy ( Unstoppably hilarious - the Guardian), was staged at the Royal Court Young Writers' Festival, and he was the Pearson Writer in Residence at Hampstead Theatre in 2001-02. Other work includes London Falls/London Tongue in 2007 (Old Red Lion - a massive authorial presence. Himes writing hits, and lingers in the memory - Time Out Critics Choice), and the Incomplete Recorded Works of a Dead Body for Radio 3s the Wire, which won the 2007 Prix Italia for Best Original Radio Drama. Ed has just completed his first short film as director, Sprawlers. Ed Hime has recently written for the cult series Skins, for which he has been nominated for a BAFTA craft award for Break-Through Talent.

Elastic Man, The

Synopsis:
a storm is brewing. Jimmy and Shelley, a young married couple from the city, have come to the coast to get away from it all but have problems they cannot escape. Jimmy can't let go of the past and Shelley, well&. she claims she doesn't have one. In this stinking town where nothing is what it seems, their marriage isn't the only thing collapsing. . .When I first met him, Jimmy locked me in his spare room for three months. He fed me rice and vegetables and watched me shit into a bucket. He bought me a rowing machine and we got a subscription to Sky Movies Plus. and this was years before set top boxes, it wasn't cheap.
