When Salome Met Hamlet (A Domestic Tragedy)

When Salome Met Hamlet (A Domestic Tragedy)

Synopsis:
What happens when two infamously dysfunctional families interact? Six characters from Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' encounter six characters from Oscar Wilde's 'Salome' when they arrive at Elsinore following the murder of Old Hamlet. Who invited them? Why are they there? The times are out of joint, and who will survive the inevitable blood-lettings of the revenge tragedy? Both source texts are drawn on, but events are played out as they happen within this dangerous environment. Audiences need little or no familiarity with the source plays, but rather can experience this play as a darkly comic exploration of obsession, murder, and revenge.
