I'll Be Damned

Synopsis:
I'll Be Damned is the story of a friendless, comic-book-loving home schooler named Louis who receives a seemingly irresistible offer from Satan. Louis's mother is a little late in coming to terms with her son growing up, God seems lost in his vision of a perfect world, and Louis is discovering himself as he attempts to find just one true friend. This new musical comedy begs the universal question: "Is there a way to make people like you without having to sell your soul to the devil?"

La Cava The Musical

La Cava The Musical
Florinda Espatorias is the daughter of the Spanish general who is governor of Ceuta in North Africa in the early 8th century. When the colony is threatened by Moorish invasion, she is sent away to be schooled in the womanly arts in the court of King Roderic in Toledo, Spain. This takes her away from her childhood sweetheart and secret lover, Somal, the son of a Moorish rebel leader. She has also been promised in marriage to an army officer. King Roderic has shunned his queen, Exilona, because of her apparent infidelity while he was away at war. He is attracted to Florinda immediately upon meeting her. Florinda's lover is killed, almost accidentally, by Roderic's soldiers. Florinda, heart-broken, is spurred on by Exilona's loyal servant Agon to seek revenge by accusing Roderic of rape. Slowly, however, Roderic wins her heart, and she discovers that she is carrying his child. In regret, she tries to send a messenger to redact her claim. The messenger is killed, however, and her father joins with the Moorish army to defend her honor, and massive bloodshed ensues.

His Royal Hipness Lord Buckley In the Zam Zam Room

Synopsis:
His Royal Hipness, Lord Buckley. A big hearted, mystic, self-ennobled aristocrat who valorized and satirized the "great and the good" with the hip, egalitarian be-bop language of his "Church of the Living Swing". A man who lived in between the world of Jazz Greats such as Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk and Frank Sinatra, also a life-long friend of Ed Sullivan appearing on his show many times. Campaigning against the stupidity of racism in a segregated America, Buckley's vernacular was the ultimate word jazz and without him there would have been no Lenny Bruce, no Robin Williams, no Dick Gregory, no Richard Pryor. His death, in 1960, is shrouded in mystery, because of the draconian 'Cabaret Card' laws in NYC in the50s, which required performers to register with the police before they could be licensed to do their act. Anyone that the police found objectionable, for any reason could be silence. . .

Actors

Synopsis:
the scene is the bare stage of a theatre, where two actors, one young, one old, await the start of rehearsals. they play chess and Exchange Theatre stories, but as they do so deeper chords are touched. Just as they represent two generations, and two schools of acting, so do they reflect two distinct ways of thinking-the older man has learned to compromise and to hold back his true opinions; while the younger man must live, and act, as openly as his emotions dictate. Ultimately sparks are struck, and their conversation cuts to the root of human relationships. But, when they part, it is evident that both, in finally revealing their deepest and most honest thoughts, have also gained much from each other-perhaps even more than they have been aware of giving

When Frankie Masters, a struggling comedian, gets the opportunity to have his own network television show in 1970, his imminent stardom threatens to reveal the hidden conflict and mounting turmoil of his personal life. Taking place prior to the celebrity tabloid when exposes were the norm, it takes a close look at lives intertwined-where each character confronts personal sacrifices that will forever impact them. another Man's Poison takes place during a pivotal time in history when the Vietnam War, exposing the racial divide, and the politicizing of sexual identity, all conspire to add depth and texture to the Drama

Show One

Synopsis:
the first and possibly most important and relevant production from Pink Triangle theatre is a powerful and punchy look at homophobia in todays society. Where does it start and how does it so easily perpetuate? Do we always have the ability to recognize it when it begins? How much of it is real and how much of it is perceived? How can we deal with it effectively when it is discovered? these are important questions, often with no defined answers. With three or four actors, thirty three characters and many situations, SHOW ONe! takes a look inside the issue, presenting the audience with thought provoking material aimed at raising valid points and promoting open discussion. . .

Broth

Synopsis:
Broth, is a dramatic comedy set in the late 1960s in a Northeast coastal town. Nell Bannister is a second- generation Irish woman who operates a boarding house teetering on the edge of financial failure. The house is home to Winston, a handyman who is studying to become a priest, Bridget, who cleans house and moonlights as a go-go dancer, Mr. Waters, who cooks up broth and volunteers at the nearby marine aquarium, and Nell's niece, Justine who lost her mother to cancer a year ago. Once a week, the living room is rented to the Quit Smokers, a support group of locals from many walks-of-life. An unlikely bond emerges among the eclectic group of people who inhabit this home, and when a crisis emerges, they discover they will go to any lengths to protect their place in the world. The play offers a fun, fresh look at the sixties through lively dialogue, richly drawn characters and an intricate plot.
