Grapes Of Wrath, The

Synopsis:
More than just an epic tale of the Joad family's fated trip from the dust bowls of Oklahoma to the 'promised land' of California, this adaptation successfully captures Steinbeck's feeling that the generosity of spirit he saw in a brutal country was not so much lost as once more waiting to be found.

Mimosa

Synopsis:
2015 sees the 150th anniversary of the journey of the small converted tea-clipper Mimosa from Liverpool to the New Bay in Argentina carrying some 160 or so brave souls from Wales to set up Y Wladfa, the Welsh colony in Patagonia. There have been many celebrations in Wales, Liverpool and Argentina to commemorate the events of 1865 and there will be many more throughout 2015, but few can be as original and bold in their concept than a project that had been developing in Tim Bakers mind over recent years and which has come to fruition in this production.

Spirit Of Momosa, The

Synopsis:
On the 28th May, 1865, during the Victorian era, the clipper the Mimosa slipped slowly out of albert Dock in Liverpool. Her destination was Patagonia, two months and three continents away, and her cargo was the entire possessions, hopes, dreams, religion and language of the 167 Welsh men and women who were travelling to build a new life. they had been promised an idyll in which to build a new Wales. the reality was very different. the Patagonia story is the most famous migration in Welsh history, and against huge odds and desperate conditions, these brave migrants succeeded in creating a Welsh speaking community which still exists and thrives today, over 7,000 miles away. the trip in 1865 had been organised by a passionate Welshman, edwin Cynrig Roberts, from Cilcain in Flintshire. This exciting new production will embrace both the english and Welsh language (and possibly some Spanish!) in recognition of the efforts of the migrants to keep alive not just their Welsh culture but also their language.
