Synopsis:
They dream of tearing up Route 66 striking fear into the unsuspecting citizens along Americas mother road soaked in grease and adventure, commanding the respect of outlaw bikers from Chicago to California: they wake to ramshackle Nortons and the monotony of unemployment in Merseyside. Dispossessed but determined The Grease Monkeys attempt to hold their raggedy brotherhood together as they are hunted by a strange man in a suit, sending them into a spiral of paranoia, sparking infighting and illustrating how much their youthful aspirations have faded into middle aged resignation. James antonios first stage play Grease Monkeys explores the hilarity and reality of small town machismo and the mystical allure of the escapism of the motorcycle, a comedy which ask serious questions about friendship, outdated rebellion and the a55.
