A tale of jealousy and passion in this original drama set in Dorset in 1856... an ordinary woman and her ordinary husband, a hatchet grabbed in haste, a murder, a wrongly accused horse, a black silk dress, the hangman from London and the mob at the hang-fair who gawp in glee. Presented in the company's rich visual style, blending storytelling and striking physicality, the show is spliced through with wicked humour and macabre songs.

Black Curtain, The

Synopsis:
Duntown, a town which could be anytime and anywhere, is sizzling in a heat wave. When Frank Harmless and his friend Harry uncover corruption on high they face a tough choice: Speak out or remain silent? Frank's decision sets in motion a series of deadly events leading to betrayal and murder. This sordid underworld full of greedy politicians, secret agents and a duplicitous femme fatale is brought to life by a chorus of men in trench coats, a cracking hard-boiled script and an original electro-jazz score.

Notes:
Inspired by classic film noirs such as Double Indemnity, with language echoing Raymond Chandler and a narrative influenced by contemporary news stories, Angel Exit weave a web of intrigue which is at once glamorously removed from our reality but also frighteningly close.
