LESTER EFEBO WILKINSON was born in 1947 in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago. He is a Playwright, Poet, Stage Director, Dramaturge, Workshop Facilitator and Lecturer in Theatre Arts at the Centre for Creative and Festival Arts at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. He has won several awards for playwriting and directing. He is a former President of the National Drama Association of Trinidad and Tobago, and Artistic Director of the National Theatre Company of Trinidad and Tobago. He was the Founding Artistic Director of the Mausica Folk Theatre, and holds a Teachers Diploma from Mausica Teachers College, a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts and Education (Magna Cum Laude) from the City University of New York, and a Master's Degree in Educational Theatre from New York University. In 2004, he was presented with the National Drama Association's "Vanguard Award" for his pioneering work in theatre, and in 2007, he received the Gayelle Television "Pierrot Independence Award" for his contribution to the development of the national community. That same year he was named Poet Laureate of the City of Port of Spain by the Mayor of Port of Spain. In 2009, he was inducted into the St. Mary's College Hall of Fame.

Bitter Cassava

Synopsis:
Sam is a young man in a common-law relationship with Justina, who has three children with him. He meets and falls in love with another woman from the city, Betty-lou, and decides that Justina has to leave his house. He eventually marries the new woman and humiliates Justina in the process. Justina returns to take her sweet revenge.

Capital Death

Synopsis:
Kellman, the former prison doctor who championed prison reform is found guilty of a charge of Libel. He refuses to pay the fine that he was charged and insisted that they throw him in jail instead. In prison, he eventually kills another prisoner and is charged for murder. He now faces a death sentence. But several groups gather outside the prison in protest. They demand that that the authorities intervene.

Same Khaki Pants

Synopsis:
It is wartime (Second World War) in Arima, Trinidad and Tobago. Soldiers and sailors from the Naval Base at Chagaramas and the Army Base at Cumuto are in town having a good time with Jean, Dinah, Clementina and the girls. A new Captain has arrived. He sees Clementina's younger sister, Mavis and is attracted to her, but their father, a long-time bad-john, Toro, takes strong objection. The story is seen through the eyes of Squeezy, the village drunk, who miraculously succeeds in ending the war.
