Synopsis: | The Rev. Betsy Barker is expecting, what she believes to be a routine visit by the Bishop of Langley and his chaplain, Canon Chombola. The visit turns out to be anything but routine, anymore than does the reception she has planned for them. Betsy is beset by one problem after another: first by the arrival of an hysterical pregnant woman who gives birth on the spot, followed by a town planning officer who has a choking fit, collapses and his body is disposed of to save embarrassment.
