Martin Travers has been on Playwrights' Studio, Scotland's mentoring scheme and has been on writing attachment with the National Theatre of Scotland. . In 2011, in partnership with Sense over Sectarianism, his play Scarfed for Life toured secondary schools with a cast of professional actors and members of the Citizens Theatre's Young Company. An adult version of Scarfed for Life with a full professional cast toured Scotland prisons twice in 2013. The adult version of Scarfed for Life was published by Bloomsbury in October 2013. A new second edition of the play, specifically for secondary schools, was published by Bloomsbury in February 2014.

Platform 2:10

Synopsis:

In 2010 he worked with prisoners to create the script for the large scale Platform 2:10 project that culminated in four live performances in the chapel at HMP Barlinnie. Platform 2:10 was part of Creative Scotland's ground breaking Inspiring Change initiative. The script for Platform 2:10 won a gold Koestler Trust Award in 2012.
