Napoleon

Synopsis:
The programme boasts a cast list which would make any Hollywood Producer green with envy: Jack Nicholson, Jack Lemmon, Woody Allen ... And like all good American spoofs it comes complete with trimmings - crammed with action, razzamazz and one of history's greatest soap operas thrown m for good measure. For two-hours-a tremulous John Sessions dons Bonaparte's famous hat and a number of other disguises and infuses some of the great figures of history with his own brand of wicked humour. 'If you took away my buildings, Paris would look like Stevenage' quips his Napoleon, who plans his manoeuvres on a stage clustered with flags, ships, cannons and other war relics, like some enthuiastic schoolboy.

Travelling Tales

Synopsis:
The programme for his latest display of parody, pastiche, and manic inventiveness (directed by Tim Supple) opens with a Mercator projection of the worid, but leaves it at that, missing the oportunity to explain where to bend the map along dotted lines and turn it into a terrestrial globe that we could after wards dribble down Haymarket.
