Beauty and The Beast

Synopsis:
Not rings, not necklaces - just bring me back a rose. And so begins one of the classic fairy tales, a coming of age story full of all the ingredients of a great Christmas show at The Dukes - adventure, laughter, wonderful characters and drama. Join Belle, our heroine, as she leaves her family and ventures deep into the forest towards the magical castle. She enters through the gates and confronts the Beast - a grizzly and gruesome creature, a lost soul in hiding from the world. Can the Beast soften and change during Belle's stay in his home - or is it Belle who must look beyond his grotesque appearance to what really matters?

Kidnapped

Synopsis:
Forged from the fury of the Jacobite rebellion, Stevensons classic novel Kidnapped recounts the captivating adventure of young Davie Balfours astonishing journey across the lochs and glens of old Scotland as he fights to right the wrongs done by his scheming Uncle of the House of Shaws. A host of memorable characters from the swaggering Jacobite Alan Breck to the infamous Red Fox, ship-wrecks, battles, murder, false accusations, and a final deadly pursuit all combine to tell an evocative tale of intrigue, with a vivid language capturing the beauty of the Scottish landscape.

Night Before Christmas, The

Synopsis:
Who's that scurrying and squeaking in the shadows? No, it's not a mouse, because Ed Robson's vividly imagined storytelling isn't based on Clement Moore's much-loved 19th-century poem. Instead, Robson has rifled through the pages of our favourite fairy tales and distilled ten of them into one fast-moving piece of superbly realised physical theatre. And it's the physicality the lovely use of mime techniques, the hints of buffon-clowning and wittily choreographed movement that allows the narratives to flow without the disruptive palaver of scene changes and copious props. - HeraldScotland

Your Country Called. . .And It Wants You Back

Synopsis:
It's 2015, and it's two weeks before the UK General Election. Everyone's talking about policies, politics and a sense of place. This fresh new piece of theatre, with live music, investigates migration, emigration and immigration through the eyes of young people (and first time voters) moving and travelling around our world, and choosing a place to stay. Sometimes spoken. Sometimes unspoken. And all the space between. Sometimes English. Sometimes Cantonese. And all the languages between - with multiple stories explore the land you live on, the land you were born on, and who that land belongs to. These are mixed, DJ style, into a live playlist of compelling narratives.
