RICH QUATRONE is founder of The American Poetry Theater in Asbury Park, NJ, and Producing Director of Playwrights on the Rise at Lakewood, NJ's Strand Theater. His first plays The Bottom of the Ninth and The Situation were produced at the William Carlos Williams Art Center in Rutherford, NJ in the mid 80s. During the same time his radio play, Voices FromThe Birth Canal, was performed on WFMU radio in East Orange, NJ. His happening, Ulysses 18: I Want To Understand was performed at Rutgers University, and Edna St. Vincent Millay Takes The Six O'Clock Train, a dance theater play choreographed by Ruth Clark, was performed at Montclair State University. Quatrone, a poet who writes lyrical plays, founded Children of September 11TH in the wake of 9/11, a guerrilla company that did a series of plays such as September 11th, Palestine and Israel, Capital Punishment, Love Studies 1 and 2. His new play, New Clay, inspired by Amiri Baraka's Dutchman, will be performed at Stay Gold in Belmar NJ, April 23, 24, 25, 2015, produced by Black Box of Asbury Park.
