David Kirk was one of the UK's leading provincial producers of plays, responsible for touring productions as well as seasons in Ilfracombe, Llandudno and St Anne's. Among his successes was his own play, A Girl Called Sadie, which starred a young Pat Phoenix, as well as touring productions of Middle Aged Spread, A Far Country, Worm's Eye View and Love Locked Out. He presented many pantomimes and also one man-shows by leading actors. He died on July 6, 2007, aged 79. - The Stage obit
