Elayne Heilveil is an award-winning playwright as well as an accomplished actress, starring in numerous TV, film and theatre productions opposite such names as Dame Judith Anderson, James Garner, Rip Torn, among others. She has published works as a journalist and her plays have been produced in Los Angeles and New York as well as throughout the US. Her plays have been published by Dramatic Publishing Company, Smith and Krauss and Applause Theatre & Cinema Books. For her short plays she is a many time competition winner and garners a Peoples Choice Award.

Ferris Wheel of Love

Synopsis:
A Girl filled with hope and longing posts an ad on Craig's List for a boy she saw on the Ferris Wheel who took her breath away. She says she will be on a bench in the amusement park, waiting. Tension builds when instead, an older, bitter man in a wheelchair arrives, with his own agenda.

One Act. Carousel Music in the background, and the screams of a group of people riding a roller coaster are used as sound effects.

Until The Rain

Synopsis:
Daisy, Begonia and Rose are flowers that are trapped together in a flower box during a devasting drought in the future. They struggle to come to terms with their meanings of life, their memories and mortality as the drought overtakes them.

Notes:
The characters represent their floral names: Rose, Daisy and Begonia and can be portrayed by any gender. The preference is that Daisy is played by a younger male and Begonia an older one. It takes place in the future with a simple set. Their attire is suggestive of the flowers they represent.
