Apollo De Bellac, The

Synopsis:
a young woman, agnes goes to the Patents Office in Paris. the building's commissionaire refuses to let her in. they talk and he discovers that she is afraid of men. He tells her that the way to get over this is to tell the man that he is beautiful, the man will become her devoted slave and she then will be over her fear. She practices on a chandelier which when told it is beautiful switches itself on. She soon has the entire board of the Patent Office and the male staff all under her spell. the board's secretary - enamoured by agnes, sacks his fiancee and gives job. agnes thinks he looks like the apollo de Bellac. He asks for a kiss - but once she has kissed him she sees that he is a wrinkled little old man
