Becky's New Car

Synopsis:
Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage-with no prospects for change on the horizon. then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life. . .and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn't dare. BeCKY's NeW CaR is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.

Dracula

Synopsis:
Grace is a perfect guest, ever-smiling, tactful and full of conversation . Her unexpected disclosures are made more powerful by the contrast with the bright facade she presents. Stanford hits all the right marks with his outwardly solicitous and inwardly seething Robbie. and Loelia, the least sympathetic character, is well-rendered in all her complexity by Fouche. It is very pleasing to find a cast as uniformly good as this: the effect is of a relay team passing the baton at top speed with pinpoint accuracy

Force Of Nature

Synopsis:
a play of extravagant romance and combustible desire, FORCe OF NaTURe brings together the "perfect couple"-Edward and Charlotte-with two persons from their past: a beautiful young woman and an older man, Edward's best friend. Beneath the placid exteriors of their lives, a storm is awakening-a rush of dangerous passions which shall alter their lives forever. Freely adapted from Goethe's elective affinities, FORCe OF NaTURe is a lush, eloquent Drama about the consequences of desire and the power of destiny.

Go, Dog Go!

Synopsis:
at the opening, the Green dog, Heather Scheeler, explained the rules of the performance to the younger audience members. What a great way for kids to have an introduction to theater etiquette! In true circus-like style, the MC Dog, brilliantly played with a comedic sense by Alex Perez, charmed the young audience members and grabbed their attention. the actors donned silly, colorful costumes with a clown theme as well as hats with dog ears attached to match their costumes. the show contained jokes for both parents and kids that made the performance really enjoyable. the story line was simple and the performers moved with graceful acrobatic skill that made the delighted preschoolers in the audience laugh and clap along. the performance was clearly geared toward the younger audience members, but may still be appreciated by adults. as well as the costumes and the script, the music and songs captivated the younger audience. the original music and lyrics were composed by Michael Koerner.
Hunter Kieserman, dc theatre scene

Halcyon Days

In 1983, against the backdrop of the tragedy in Beirut, the most powerful nation on earth invaded the smallest country in the western hemisphere: the United States invaded Granada. This deviously dark comedy takes us behind the scenes of this incredible invasion. This behind the scenes world is not on the island, however, it is with the speech writers and spin doctors who won America's first "public relations" war.

Paragon Springs

Synopsis:
It is 1926 in the American heartland, and the famed "healing waters" of Paragon Springs have been mysteriously poisoned. Now, the town's foremost citizen-Crusader, Dr. Thomas Stockman, is determined to know the truth behind this tragedy, no matter the cost. In this vibrant, often funny, and highly theatrical re-imagining of Ibsen's an enemy of the People, Steven Dietz puts the lure of capitalism and the greed of small-town self-interest squarely on trial - laced with Dr. Stockman's lasting cry that "the majority is always wrong!" This is an entertaining and illuminating Drama - set amid the birth of radio and the final roar of the 1920s - about the human cost of our political gamesmanship.

Private Eyes

Synopsis:
a comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. Matthew's wife, Lisa, is having an affair with adrian, a British theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined all of it simply to have something to report to Frank, his therapist. and, finally, there is Cory-the mysterious woman who seems to shadow the others-who brings the story to its surprising conclusion. Or does she? the audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious "relationship thriller" about love, lust and the power of deception.

Yankee Tavern

Yankee Tavern
adam, a young grad student on the fast track toward marriage and a career in the CIa, has temporarily taken his late father's place behind the bar at the Yankee Tavern, an old gin joint in lower Manhattan whose imminent date with the wrecking ball will only be an improvement. along with the bar, adam has inherited his dad's friend Ray, an apparently schizophrenic, itinerant homesteader who is a perpetual font of conspiracy theories about Starbucks, the moon landing, Yoko Ono, and the Bay of Pigs. Ray even talks to dead people in the abandoned hotel upstairs where he flops. adam takes it all in with protective affection and a large grain of salt, his only concern being for Ray's fate following the building's demolition, and a nagging doubt about the circumstances of his father's death. then Palmer arrives, a mysterious stranger who seems to know far too much about the 9/11 attacks. Suddenly, Ray's ranting does not seem nearly so far off base; in fact, it is hitting much too close to home. But the intrigue doesn't end there. When all the save-the-date cards from adam's side of the guest list come back as addressee Unknown, his fiancee Janet starts to wonder how well she really knows her intended. Will monumental secrets be brought to light before the walls come down on the Yankee Tavern or will they be buried in the rubble?
