David Bridel is a director, choreographer, writer, and master teacher of acting, movement and clown. the Los Angeles Times writes: "Bridel is the real thing, one of the most inventive, scholarly, and vastly challenging voices on the current theatrical scene." David's productions of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, Moliere, Ionesco, Pirandello, Dumas and others, as well as his own new plays, have been seen in Los Angeles, New York City, Tel aviv, London, and edinburgh. He is the co-artistic Director of the Franklin Stage Company, in Franklin, New York which he co-founded in 1997, and for whom he has directed 15 productions of classic plays and adaptations. For academy award winner William Friedkin, David has choreographed four operas, two in Los Angeles and two at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, as well as the Soldier's Tale at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, in association with the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. He has also served as Commedia dell'arte Movement Specialist for the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. David's original plays have been performed in Edinburgh, in London, at Franklin Stage, in Los Angeles, at Shakespeare and Company, and at the Roy Hart Theatre in Malerargues, France. His play I GeLOSI is published in 2009 by Original Works. He is the winner of a NYFa Fiction award, and his non-fiction has been published by Bloomsbury and in periodicals. He is the recipient of grants from the Arts Council of Great Britain. David is a widely experienced acting, comedy and movement specialist who has taught in many of the leading Drama schools and universities in england, Israel, and across the usA. He is currently the associate Director and the Head of Movement for the MFA program at the University of Southern California, and runs his own Clown School in Los Angeles. David is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the American Guild of Musical artists

I Gelosi

Synopsis:
I Gelosi (the Zealous Ones) lovingly recreates the world of the commedia dell'arte and tells the story of Italy's first great traveling theatre troupe. In the late 16th Century the Gelosi company takes the provinces by storm, thanks to the beauty, wit and charm of IsabElla andreini, one of the very first women ever to play on the stage. Invited to perform at the Court of King Charles IX of France, the Gelosi become the toast of europe - until they risk the wrath of the Pope with a virulent theatrical satire.
