Rachel Arbeit is a comedian and writer in New York City. She has performed New York Comedy Club, Caroline's, Comic Strip Live, Gotham Comedy Club, Laugh Lounge, Times Square Arts Center, Broadway Comedy Club, Joke Joint and many others. Rachel writes for National Lampoon and PlayerPress. She is also a playwright. Her work has been chosen for one-act competitions at the Secret Theatre, The Players Theatre and Manhattan Repertory Theatre. Rachel's full-length play "The Shallot" had a sold-out run at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in November 2012 and was produced in the Midtown International Theatre Festival in July 2013. One who enjoys miscellaneous facts, learning, and drinking, Rachel hosts weekly Trivia Tryst games all over New York City. Her trivia nickname is Rachel "Rabies-Free Since '83? Arbeit, and it's true.

Shallot, The

Synopsis:
the play is about an aspiring writer works as the Office Manager at the Shallot, a satirical news organization, hoping to become a writer. While fielding phone calls and dealing with the revolving door of actors and actresses coming into the office for auditions, the Office Manager and intern observe a changing company whose structure, like its product, is funny. It is based on a true story about the playwright's time working at the Onion.
