Marc andreottola has been published by akashic Books, K48, the Chicago Literary Review, and won the David L. MacLaughlin prize at the University of Chicago for his fiction. He earned an MFA in Fiction Writing from Brown University, where he also realized his first experimental short films. In 2007, he completed a longer video work, SUZY's PaRTY. He staged his play, We aRe the LaWMaKeRS, most recently at the 2008 New York Fringe Festival. He currently resides in Minneapolis, where he is working on a novel and preparing to shoot a short film, "Dear Donald Duck" (2009).

Synopsis:
It is about a group of people who put on a fun and scary show of American culture and politics, post-apocalypse, after their brains have been fried and they don't understand anything anymore.

We ARe the LaWMaKeRS was first produced As A play in the 2008 New York Fringe Festival At the Lafayette Street theater And directed by Marc Andreottola. the text combines many elements And references in American media, political And pop culture, including CBS news, speeches by presidential candidates such As Hillary Clinton And former presidents such As Ronald Reagan And George W. Bush, the Tyra Banks Show, the Oprah Winfrey show, the Paula Dean show, drag performer Rupaul, Landmark education And various self-help programs, And Britney Spears. the play has been called "a schizophrenic socio-political commentary on American identity" (Time Out New York), "shocking. . .insane. . .with moments of brilliance" (NYtheatre,com) And "the most bizarre show [at the NY Fringe Festival]" (Bread, Books And Culture in NYC).
