Maureen White is a director, writer, teacher, and co-founder of Canada's Nightwood Theatre (with Km Renders, Mary \Iingoe and Cynthia Grant). Maureen's work in Canada includes: writer/performer in This Is For You Anna, a collective which toured Ontario Theatres and was part of the Du Maurier International Festival, Toronto; Director of the Dora Mayor Moore award-winning production of The Stone Angel (Theatre Passe Muraille); the award-winning children's show Thin Ice (Theatre Direct); the English premiere of Aurelie, Ma Soeur (Centaur Theatre and National Arts Centre); The Arab's Mouth and The Cllchettes (Factory Theatre). In addition, she has worked with Nightwood Theatre to initiate the Groundswell Festival, Canada's national play development program for new works by women, now in its twenty-third year. Directing work in Ireland includes: Pagilacci/Frankies, Combattimenti, Bitter Fruit, Sensational (Opera Theatre Company); Bondagers (Charabanc Theatre); Fear of Feathers (Andrews Lane Theatre). She was also dramaturg on Play About My Dad by Michelle Read, and The Lament for Arthur Cleary by Dermot Bolger. Previous published work includes: This Is For You Anna (co-written with Anne Marie MacDonald, Suzanne Khun and Banuta Rubess). Maureen White is the first-year acting teacher for the Gaiety School of Acting.

Unravelling The Ribbon

Synopsis:
The touching - and frequently hilarious - story of three women whose lives are touched by breast cancer. Rose is thirty-four and lives on a farm with her husband and two children. She worries she may have married too young. Lola is fifty and wants to sell her home. Nobody ever calls and she has stopped opening her post. Lyndsey is eleven and her best friend has stopped sitting beside her in art class. When breast cancer touches their lives, everything starts to unravel - Rose's marriage falls apart, Lola gets arrested and Lyndsey hides a cooked ham in a thorn bush.
