Notes:

I have a newpaper cutting from "The West Australian " newspaper dated April 1st 1982 (Australian) 'Thursday Magazine' section with story headed "Morris West 'goes for broke'" HUGH SCHMITT reports from New York. The interview with West discusses his recently written play, "The World is made of Glass" which was to be directed by noted Director, Jose Quintero with co producer Lester Osterman. The play was reported to be opening in the northern autumn. West also stated that he had decided to write a book of the same name and had already written 10,000 words in 5 weeks. That book was published in 1983 by Hodder and Staunton. The Play "The World is made of Glass" produced by 'American Ensemble Company' had its American premiere at the Church of the Holy Scapular, 339 East 28th Street, New York on the weekend of the 24th 25th and 26th April, 1987. The Director was Robert Petito and the cast included Sheila Saunders, Sal Condoluci, Joan Nimmo and Susan Gregory. This information was obtained from the Weekender Guide, New York Times published April 24, 1987.
