Synopsis: | Ethel has an overactive imagination. Her family are tired of her stories that she somehow thinks are true. When she looses her job she accepts a proposal from Harold. The marriage is a disaster. They put up a young sailor Rowlie. Harold and Ethel quarrel and she tells him she is having an affair with Rowley. He says he knows. Rowley goes back to sea and Ethel writes to him. But Rowley does not know about her stories and she writes to him about how she longs to marry him and how Harold should be disposed of he does not agree to a divorce. Back on leave Rowley confronts Harold who refuses to divorce his wife. Rowley stabs him. Ethel cannot understand why she is prosecuted for the murder too even when she is shown her letters. | |||||
