Johannes Von Saaz was also known as Johannes Von Tepl. Very little is know about him. It is presumed that he attend the University of Prague. He was a solicitor in Saaz in 1383 and in 1386 he was the Rector of Saaz's Latin School. From 1411 he lived in Prague.
