        Radioman         Valkyrie: A Motorway Odyssey

Radioman

Synopsis:
The story of Radioman is the story of the Gadfly. A canalboat. But not a very nice one. There arent any plant pots. Or lace net curtains. Or windows. This hull is blossoming with rust. A mossy carpet reaches across from the bank and its tricky to work out where the cabin ends and the willow above begins. It does have a speaker. And theres music coming from the speaker. Well, whispering really. Its not what you might call homely. On the other hand, it is a home, so maybe you would.

Valkyrie: A Motorway Odyssey

Synopsis:
A cosmic myth about life, death and the unintended consequences of not reading the small print. Follow the Driver on a journey across the edges of reality.

Notes:
Part of The Locker. The Signal-Man first appeared as part of the Mugby Junction short story collection in 1866. Originally presented in the Christmas edition of All the Year Round, Dickens used this periodical to express his beliefs in social reform. Now Simon Blake offers a chilling reminder of Dickens own themes, and explores the dangers of over-stretching the services on which we all rely.
