Synopsis: | SICK follows a patient as she negotiates the absurdities of a day in hospital, revealing her wildest imaginings and darkest thoughts as medication, boredom and illness give wings to her flights of fancy. SICK is inspired by the time director Martin Danziger has spent in hospital following a diagnosis of cancer in 2007. The show has been developed in collaboration with NHS and patient groups, including NHS Community Engagement, Yorkhill Young People's Service, Maggies, Macmillan Cancer Support and Taktent. Workshops and long-term residencies have given patients of all ages and conditions a chance to feed anecdotes, experiences and individual accounts into the show. | |||||
