Me And My Monkey

Synopsis:
In the near future, Great Britain is at war with France, watching television gives you cancer and the One-Card is the government's way of keeping the populace in line. The One-Card is your passport, birth certificate, medical record, family gene history and curriculum vitae. It knows more about you than your mother and without it you don't exist. Meet Alan Mustard, a professional fraud, whose mission in life is to make his own blank One-Card, write his own past, present and future and then bugger off to Brazil with the profits. Say hello to his niece, Jean. Due to a genetic twist of fate, Jean doesn't exist. At least not according to the computer. If she applies for a One-Card she faces imprisonment for her part in Alan's crimes, so she's happy to enjoy the tax-free benefits of being a nobody until Alan can knock-up a fake card for her. But then Jean is offered a name, a job and a place in the real world. All she has to do is turn in the man she calls her uncle. But how do you catch a crook who, according to the almighty computer, has never done a wrong thing in his life?

Twelve-Inch Pianist, The

Synopsis:
Some of us achieve greatness; others have it thrust upon them and some still live with their mums. Pete and Stuart were left behind. Their band, Agnostic Chocolate, broke up after their lead singer dumped them to become one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Ten years later Pete is a marketing executive with a tenuous grip on his sanity and Stuart is a socialist protest singer still living with his mum. They now lead bitter and twisted lives pretending to be happy with their lot. Until the week it all fell apart.

Unusually Tall Boy

Synopsis:
Well - My parents are about to split up - I think. They argue a lot anyway, in fact they thrive on it. Dad could swear for England and mum knows exactly what buttons to push when it comes to winding people up; they argue like no-one else I know. But it's all a bit different this time. Mum's pregnant. She only had me when she was fifteen and from what I've heard it was the hardest time of her life and for some reason she wants to go through it all again. Well, I say 'Some reason', the local tongue-waggers reckon it's just to keep dad, but - Mum's not like that. She's not. Dad's job seems to consist of either dealing with people who are trying to get him sacked, sitting in traffic or selling fizzy drinks to people who don't want them. It was his idea to come on this holiday to get away from all that and relax. But it's just meant that instead of shouting at each other in the evenings we can now do it all day - We never really go anywhere as a family. All we ever do is watch telly - Morris fits in nowhere. His family is falling apart, no-one reads the same books as him and sex is something like the UFO conspiracies he's heard about; It's everywhere but he has yet to get his hands on any real evidence. But a camping weekend near Hastings affords him the chance to discover what it's all about as his parents attempt to patch up their marriage by arguing as loudly as possible and embarrassing Morris at every opportunity.
