Synopsis: | Harold's story is not as strange as it may seem, although it is fiction it is at the same time somewhat real. In it, Harold may appear to be a drug user, he is, but that isn't the main focus of this piece, he is also a veteran and once again its not the main focus. His wavering trust in God, and his ability to do right in his mind and by his God all seem to be focus points, but there not. Nor the fact that he alludes to having a dreaded disease, AIDS. All these things combined help to show Harold in his own light, for Harold's problem is that he's already down in the count of life because he is basically a Black man existing in a white man's world. Harold was on a mission, and it wasn't much different from our own missions in life, it's just that along the way we encounter things that will shape and mould us, if we choose to let them. Some may be realized quickly and others can take hold on us over a period of time. Let the past guild you, learn from others mistakes and good deeds, these are the things that will keep you sane and hopefully in control of your life. | |||||
