Karel Capek's War with the Newts

Synopsis:
A socio-political satire about mankind's self-undoing. The play chronicles the evolution and demise of human own society thru the rise of trained salamanders who, initially exploited, challenge mankind's position at the top of the pyramid. The play addresses our capacity to be brainwashed and blinded by the media, materialism, false science, prejudice, politics and ultimately war. Presented in a chronicle form similar to the novel, the adaptation brings the story through the cultural revolutions of 20thC into the present day.

Notes:
Solomon's theatrical Adaptation uses the Ewald Osers English translation of Capek's novel with the permission of UNESCO Publishing which commissioned the new translation.
