MICHAEL SOLE

Nationality:    English

Literary Agent:    n/a

Mike Sole has been involved in amateur dramatics as an actor and director for a number of years. He draws on this experience to write plays that will appeal to groups of all sizes and abilities, with straight forward sets and plenty of laughs. Mike strongly believes that there is nothing funnier than a man losing his trousers on stage. Whilst he doesn't guarantee that this will happen in all of his plays he can guarantee laughs galore. The premier performance of "Oh Vicar! What a lovely pair!" has now gone down in local history. It was being directed by Mike and as most amateur groups will be aware there is rarely the luxury of understudies. Three hours before the performance the actress playing the part of Roxanne (young, blonde & sexy) was involved in a bizarre accident with a fire extinguisher and was unable to perform. Of course the show must go on but Mike was the only other person who knew the lines. He raided his wife's wardrobe and the pantomime wigs. The play started, with most of the cast not knowing that anything was wrong. Needless to say when Mike made his entrance there were hoots of laughter (and gasps of shock from his wife!) The audience were convinced that this was how it was supposed to be. The following night, the real Roxanne, who had been in the audience the previous night, was well enough to perform. However she had enjoyed the play so much that she insisted that Mike continue in the role for the rest of the performances! In 2006 Mike performed at the Edinburgh Festival.

Picnic, The

Synopsis:
Nick is 40 today. He has arranged a picnic with his wife Ann to celebrate. Due to a mix up Ann's sister and her husband will be joining them. As they each prepare for occasion it is clear that both couples have very different ideas of the day ahead with hilarious consequences. Once at the picnic site Nick explains why he has chosen the location and recalls a few weeks that he spent there as a teenager. The couples find out that perhaps they have more in common than they had realised as this comedy shows more tender moments as the picnic progresses.
