Cheap Food and Sex

Synopsis:
Who better to observe and reflect one's foibles and frailties than one's children-especially when the foibles involve a grown woman carrying a baby doll for her inner child therapy, or a man aping the Great White Hunter to recover his lost masculinity? At a McDonald's somewhere in the Arizona desert, a chance encounter between the mother-son and father-daughter pairs of Mars and Garth and Frank and Serena is the catalytic catapult for comedy. Vegetarian Garth, with his flower-child mother, and faux-macho Frank, with his trendy NYC daughter, Serena, may seem like oil and water, but love has a way of mixing opposites. these modern-age misfits discover in one another and themselves truths they could not have found separately. the by-product of their intermingling is plenty of laughter and wincing smiles as we enjoy watching their offbeat therapies converge.

Notes:
Chosen As part of the Pandora Festival, the play is yet to have A full production.

Fred and Mary: An Unconventional Romance

Synopsis:
Spanning the years 1876 through 1958, the quasi-historical play centers on the life of Mary Jane Colter who designed Phantom Ranch, Hopi House, and six other buildings at the Grand Canyon, along with a host of other buildings; and her relationship with Fred Harvey, who, along with his prim waitresses, dubbed "the Harvey Girls," have been credited with civilizing the West. Together, their reverence for and promotion of Indian art and culture laid the groundwork for what the Southwest is today.

Notes:
Double casting brings the cast down to 7: 2 women, 5 men; written in 2008, the plays has had readings throughout Arizona, but no production yet.
