ANN MARIE SHEA is an actress/playwright working in the Boston area. She has recently appeared with Redfeather Theatre (Macbeth, Twelfth Night, Richard III, Tempest), Stoneham Theatre (A Prayer for Owen Meaney, And Then There Were None, It's a Wonderful Life), Boston Playwrights' Theatre (Red Elm), Devanaughn Theatre (By the Bog of Cats), Pilgrim Soul (The Loves of Cass McGuire), and has understudied at Huntington. She taught theatre for many years at Worcester State College, and played Amanda in Glass Menagerie there. She has also appeared at Theatre at the Mount, Worcester Forum Theatre, and has served as reader at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference, Valdez, AK. She has directed in the Worcester area for New England Theatre Company, Worcester Children's Theatre, Concord Players and Entr'Actors. Her one-act play, The M-Pill, was read at the 2004 Last Frontier Theatre Conference, and produced at Redfeather Theatre. The one-act play Power Lunch-Members Only, was read at Last Frontier in 2006. Her one-act play, Land's End Cafe, was read at the Curtain Theatre (Columbus, OH) in 2007. Her ten-minute play, With Improvements by the Actors, has been published in Flemish by the Dutch enterprise ANKO, in coordination with Boston University, where it was first staged in the 2004 Boston Theatre Marathon, and was staged throughout the summer of 2004 by Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University, an M.A. from the Catholic University of America, and a B.A. from Anna Maria College. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild, dean of the College of Fellows of the New England Theatre Conference, and president (2009-2010) of the Shakespeare Club of Worcester.
