Alice Shapiro's first play "Four Voices" won the Bill C. Davis Drama Award and was produced by Apple Blossom Productions, Poughkeepsie, NY in 1988. The original script was subsequently lost, and resurfaced in the Bristol University Theatre Archives in 2009. "Four Voices" is currently under consideration for a production by StageWorks, VA during 2010. Shapiro also completed a series of six mini-plays (under 5 minutes each) in the style of poet Gerard Manley Hopkins. She is author of two collections of poetry, the first was nominated for both a Pushcart Prize and GAYA Award (Georgia Author of the Year), the second will be released August 31, 2010. Shapiro studied poetry and playwriting with William Packard, founder of The New York Quarterly.
