Aliza began her career at Queens College, where she received a BA in Theatre. She has worked as a director, stage manager and writer in many different venues since. With Genesis Repertory, she directed Hamlet, The First Quarto and was AD for Avenge! The Spanish Tragedy, (Spotlight On Festival) and The Duel, (Samuel French Festival). She co-directed The Bacchae, (Cypreco Theatre Co.) which was performed, among other places, at the Cyprus Consulate and the HBO Summer Stage. She directed the showcase Cabaret: A New World (Towards Truth Prod.) and was AD/SM for Flyers & Other Tales (Midtown International Theatre Festival).At the Gene Frankel Theatre, she directed The Acoustic Nerve (Groove Mama Ink- One Act Festival) and Drum Beat (Ciona Taylor Productions). With the Looking Glass Theater, she directed the new works Cancel the Arugula and Aquarium in recent Forums, and directed & adapted the award-winning The Misanthrope. Her current adaptation of Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid, is currently running in the Looking Glass Theatre's Spring Writer/Director Forum. She will also be directing the Looking Glass's main stage children's show in the fall. She is currently an artistic associate of the Looking Glass Theatre and is the General Forum Coordinator.
