Seth Zvi Rosenfeld was born and raised in NYC. His newest play Handball will be produced in New York next season. His most recent play, Everything's Turning Into Beautiful, opened July, 2006 at The New Group. It starred Daphne Rubin-Vega and Malik Yoba. Mr. Rosenfeld is currently developing Snitch, a TV series for A&E, with Warner Horizon and John Wells Productions. He is currently writing the book for a Broadway musical version of the movieSuperfly, with Tommy Mottola and Jeb Brien producing. He most recently worked with Tommy Mottola and Antoine Fuqua to create an hour series based on the bookQueens Reigns Supreme for Showtime. He also developed a series for FX titled Cop and His Son with Sony TV and Tantemount producing. He developed a series for CBS titled On Behalf Of The Dead. He wrote and executive produced Wyclef Jean In America for HBO with Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige, Robert Klein, and Danny Hoch.Only In New York, a movie script that he wrote with Geebee Dejani, is being developed by Tucker Tooley and Dan Keston. The movie will star Jim Caviezel, Ray Liotta, and Gerard Depardu and will be directed by Pitof. Mr. Rosenfeld will direct his original screenplay, Lessons For Benny Blanco, with Amy Robinson producing, and it will star Victor Rasuk and Zoe Saldana. His screenplay Suicide Drills is being packaged by CAA for Al Pacino to star. He is an Adjunct Professor in the graduate film studies at Columbia University. As a filmmaker, Mr. Rosenfeld has written and directed the feature films, A Brother's KissFirst Look/Overseas and King of the JungleSony/Urbanworld. His films have appeared in many national and international festivals including Venice and Deauville. He was invited to participate in the Sundance Institutes Writers and Directors labs. His award winning short Under the Bridge ran for several years on BRAVO. He wrote and directed a segment of Subway Stories for HBO, which Geebee Dajani co-wrote, and he directed We Deliver for Palm Pictures. He wrote the feature film Sunset Park for Jersey films/Tri-Star and has worked extensively as a writer and script doctor in film and television for New Line Cinema, Universal Pictures, Tri-star Pictures, Polygram, Gramercy, Island Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner TV, HBO and UPN. Mr. Rosenfeld started his career as a playwright nurtured by the Ensemble Studio Theatre and the now defunct Double Image and Angel Theatre companies. His plays include The Writing on the Wall, produced by the Westbeth Theatre Center; The Blackeyed Brothers, produced by Double Image Theatre and winner of the Samuel French short play award; A Brother's Kiss and After the Marching Stopped, produced by Angel Theatre at Intar and retitled Brothers. Mothers and Others; Servy-n-Bernice 4ever, directed by Terry Kinney and produced commercially Off-Broadway at the Provincetown Playhouse; A Passover Story, commissioned by the late Joseph Papp for the Public Theatre; The Flatted Fifth, produced by The New Group; the tiny plays La Familia, My Starship, and PS: I'm glad you sent your hair for Naked Angels and the Hip-Hop Theatre festival. Many of his plays have been published by Samuel French. He is a member of the New York Playwright's Lab.
