Synopsis: | A full length one act about two people looking to fill a void in their lives by developing a father- daughter relationship. Niurka, a middle school teacher, finds her niche of contentment with her husband, Bill and their daughter Kelly. Her only emotional drawback is the absence of her parents during her childhood years. Growing up, she spent most of her time in an orphanage. Dismissing the thought of those impressionable years, she one day receives a letter from her long lost father. He asks if he could visit her. Reluctant at first, Niurka agrees to invite him to her beach home. Quite naturally, she becomes cautious and distant. Her father, Sebastian, tries to ease the tension by being humorous and understanding. Gradually, they both begin to bond with each other. However, Sebastian shatters their delicate relationship by confessing to Niurka his true reason for spending the summer with her and her family. | |||||
