Cynthia G. Robinson was raised in the Bronx, New York. She is a Playwright, Educator, Teaching Artist, and Producer. She holds a B.A. in English from Syracuse University and an M.A. in English Education from New York University. She has also studied English Education at Trinity College, University of Oxford in the U.K. Plays include: Peola's Passing (Samuel French Off Off Broadway Theatre Festival; New Perspectives Theatre Company); Gold Star Mother (EstroGenius Festival; publication in Book of Estro); Ascension (National Black Theatre Festival; New York International Fringe Festival), Thunder: A Musical Memoir (New York International Fringe Festival), Dancing on Eggshells (Women's Work Development Lab, New Perspectives Theatre). Awards include: State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities; Finalist, Black and Latino Playwrights Conference (Texas State University); Calvin B. Grimes Scholar-in-Residence (New York University). Other honors include: Tribeca All-Access Open Stage, Best New Play IRNE nomination (Ascension), Thomas Barbour Memorial Playwright's Award, Finalist (The Panacea). Cynthia is a member of The League of Professional Theatre Women, The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc., and Co-founder/Artistic Director of Robinson Williams Productions, a production company founded with her husband and mentor, Cezar Williams.

Nightfall

Synopsis:
Cynthia G. Robinson's Nightfall, directed by Cezar Williams, takes us to a village in Sudan, where Kofi and his pregnant wife Josiane are preparing for a peaceful night after finally getting their baby to sleep. But they are interrupted by the arrival of Tahir and Chad, a pair of mercenaries who threaten everything that this couple holds dear. Robinson's writing is searing and involving, well-performed by Georgia Southern, Neil Dawson, Leopold Lowe, and Clinton Lowe.
