DAVID W. RINTELS. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, 1939. Educated at Harvard University, B.A., magna cum laude, 1959. Worked as a journalist for the Boston Herald, 1959-60; news director for WVOX-Radio in New Rochelle, New York, 1959; researcher for the National Broadcasting Company, 1961; television writer since the early 1960s. Member: Writers Guild of America, West, chairperson of the Committee on Censorship and Freedom of Expression; president of the Writers Guild of America, West, 1975-77. Recipient: George Foster Peabody Award, 1970; Gavel Award from the American Bar Association, 1971; Writers Guild of America Awards, 1971, 1975; Emmy Awards, 1974, 1975.
